E-coating process for aluminum battery housings
New energy battery housings mostly use aluminum. E-coating requires a dedicated pretreatment process. After degreasing, alkaline etching, desmutting and conversion coating, the aluminum surface is e-coated to ensure adhesion and corrosion resistance. Bath parameters are controlled by process, and film thickness is adjusted by voltage and bath concentration. The e-coating film of battery housings also requires good edge coverage and electrolyte resistance.
Process structure of the e-coating line
The e-coating line is organized in the order of loading, pretreatment, e-coating, ultrafiltration rinsing, baking, inspection and unloading. The pretreatment tanks are configured according to material. The e-coating tank uses a rectifier power supply and ultrafiltration system, and the ultrafiltrate recovers rinsing water. The baking oven sets temperature and time according to the e-coating paint curing requirement. The whole line is connected by a crane or conveyor with a unified cycle.
