Principle of the power-and-free conveyor
The power-and-free conveyor combines a pusher dog and conveyor chain. Workpieces are carried on trolleys hung on the chain and can be conveyed, stopped and accumulated. The accumulation function lets workpieces flow flexibly between pretreatment, painting and drying stations, and cycle differences between stations are buffered through accumulation. The power-and-free conveyor suits continuous coating conveying of long and heavy workpieces.
Station layout of the long-part coating line
The elevator truss coating line is arranged in pretreatment, painting, drying and unloading stations, with the power-and-free conveyor running through the whole line. Pretreatment uses immersion or spraying, and the truss passes after hanging. The painting station is equipped with an operation platform for spraying long surfaces. The drying oven uses a long tunnel structure through which trusses pass continuously. The unloading station is equipped with slings for loading and unloading.
Cycle and buffer control
The accumulation function of the power-and-free conveyor allows workpieces to buffer in front of stations while waiting for processing. The system controls conveying and accumulation logic according to the process cycle, avoiding workpiece build-up and long waiting. Encoders position stations accurately, and conveying speed is adjustable. The control cabinet manages the whole line status and alarms on abnormality.
Coating quality and safety
Long-part coating quality is controlled through pretreatment quality, spraying parameters and drying temperature. Truss structural parts focus on coating adhesion and appearance. The conveyor is equipped with safety guarding and limit devices to prevent workpiece collision and falling. Slings are inspected regularly to ensure lifting safety.
