Power units, sprayers and cleaning machines have many models and medium batch sizes, with similar assembly and testing processes. They are suitable for production on a modular assembly line. Taizhou Yufeng Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd. planned such an assembly line for manufacturers, balancing efficiency and flexibility.
Modular line design
The modular line sets up common stations according to the common processes of the products, then configures special modules for different products. Common stations include power unit pre-assembly, pump body assembly, pipe connection, electrical wiring and complete machine testing. Special modules such as sprayer nozzle calibration and cleaning machine water tank installation are connected to common stations through quick-change interfaces. During changeover, only modules and fixtures need to be replaced, so switching time is short.
Pressure and function testing
Sprayers and cleaning machines involve pressure and spray functions. The test station is equipped with pressure testing and water circuit testing equipment. Test pressure is set according to product standard to check sealing and flow, with pass or fail judged automatically. Power units are tested mainly for startup, speed and load performance. Test data is bound to the product number for traceability.
Assembly assist and mistake-proofing
To reduce physical workload, stations are equipped with assist arms and locating fixtures. Critical fastening points use torque tools with mistake-proofing to prevent missing fasteners. Parts are kitted by station to reduce searching. Line display boards show production progress and abnormal information for easy management.
The value of flexible production
A modular assembly line can produce multiple products on the same line, adapting to order fluctuations. Companies do not need a separate line for each product, reducing equipment investment and floor space. When batch sizes are small, the number of stations can be adjusted to keep the cycle matched to demand.
Expansion and upgrade
The line reserves module interfaces and conveyor extension positions. Automatic assembly, automatic testing or automatic packing modules can be added later. The control system supports recipe management, so a new product only requires adding a recipe and modules.
