Switchgear cabinets are large, thin-walled and weight-heavy. Repeated turning and handling during body assembly and internal assembly consumes labor and easily causes cabinet deformation and surface scratches. Taizhou Yufeng Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd. integrates lifting assist devices, turning fixtures and final assembly stations into the cabinet body and secondary assembly line, making large-part work safer and less laborious.
Organizing cabinet body assembly
The cabinet body assembly station is organized in the order of profile preparation, frame welding, door and side panel installation, fastening and correction. Profiles are cut and numbered according to drawings, and locating fixtures ensure dimensional accuracy of the cabinet. Welding areas are ground and then painted or surface treated to prevent rust. Completed cabinets move to the next station by conveyor, reducing forklift handling.
Using lifting assist devices
For tall cabinets, installing internal components requires bending or working at height, which is inefficient and unsafe. We configure lifting assist devices at stations to lift components or internal assemblies to working height so operators work standing. The lifting device uses a balancer or pneumatic assist arm that can hold at any position, and with fixtures it can assemble heavier components accurately. Lifting assist is also used for cabinet turning, rotating the cabinet to a suitable angle for rear wiring and bottom installation.
Secondary assembly and final assembly stations
The secondary assembly station completes the installation of meters, instrument transformers, secondary components and cable harnesses. The workbench is arranged in operation order, with components and tools positioned at fixed points to reduce searching. The final assembly station completes the connection between primary and secondary circuits, interlock verification and functional testing. Stations are connected by electric roller conveyors, and products flow at a fixed cycle to avoid waiting and build-up.
Mistake-proofing and safety
Several mistake-proofing measures are set during cabinet assembly, such as torque monitoring, QR code confirmation of components and interlock between stations. The lifting area is equipped with warning and limit devices to prevent overload and collision. For thin-wall cabinets, we design special handling fixtures to reduce deformation from manual force.
Applicable scenarios
This line suits body assembly and secondary assembly of ring main units, low voltage cabinets and medium voltage switchgear. For factories with many cabinet models and medium batch sizes, station-based work plus lifting assist clearly improves efficiency and safety. The specific solution can be designed according to the cabinet list, output and factory height.
