Circuit breaker assembly in medium voltage switchgear has high cleanliness requirements, and partial discharge testing is also sensitive to the assembly environment and operation flow. A switchgear manufacturer encountered problems of assembly contamination, inconvenient transfer and test waiting in the breaker assembly and partial discharge test process. Taizhou Yufeng Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd. designed an overall solution with an inverted manipulator, cleanroom air shower and rapid roller door.
Project background
The customer produces ring main units and medium voltage switchgear, and breaker assembly and partial discharge testing are key processes. During assembly, component contamination affected partial discharge performance. The cleanroom transfer method was inconvenient and affected efficiency. The entry and exit method of the test room affected temperature, humidity and cleanliness control.
Solution design
The inverted manipulator was used for breaker body assembly, assisting large-part turning and positioning and reducing manual handling and contamination contact. An air shower was configured at the cleanroom entrance, removing dust before personnel enter. Rapid roller doors replaced traditional doors, with fast opening and closing that reduced exchange between the test room and the outside environment and stabilized temperature and humidity. The test room was arranged with partial discharge test stations, and test data was recorded automatically.
Project results
Assembly cleanliness improved and the partial discharge pass rate increased. The manipulator reduced assembly workload and made transfer more convenient. Rapid roller doors shortened entry and exit time, and the test room environment became more stable. The customer reported improved overall efficiency and more reliable product quality.
Case insight
Partial discharge performance depends not only on test equipment but also on the assembly environment and transfer method. Only by planning assembly cleanliness, transfer convenience and the test environment together can the partial discharge pass rate be fundamentally improved.
