A switchgear manufacturer wanted to integrate these steps into an automated line to improve gas tank manufacturing efficiency and quality controllability. Project pain points
The customer's gas tank manufacturing was scattered in multiple areas, and testing, leak detection, welding and handling depended on manual connection. Mechanical characteristic and loop resistance test records were not unified, the helium leak detection station flow was not smooth, and welding room environment control relied on manual management. The customer wanted to integrate these steps into an automated flow.
Solution design
We designed an integrated gas tank automation line. The mechanical characteristic and loop resistance test station recorded data automatically and bound it to the tank number. The helium leak detection station standardized the detection flow and judged automatically. Pneumatic balancing lifting assisted gas tank handling and reduced workload. The welding room was equipped with environment control and access control, making welding quality and safety more controllable. The automated handling system connected the stations, and work-in-process flowed at a fixed cycle.
Project results
The integrated line eliminated waiting from manual connection, and the gas tank manufacturing cycle shortened. Test data was managed uniformly, and quality traceability became more complete. The welding room environment was controlled, and welding quality was stable. Automated handling reduced transfer and collision. The customer reported improved overall manufacturing capability, providing a foundation for more orders.
